Ron Howard's blockbusting epic "The Da Vinci Code", released in 2006 by Sony's Columbia Pictures, twists and turns along the Roseline, culminating at the ancient Chapel of Rosslyn.

The Sony name was created by combining "SONUS," the original Latin for "SONIC," meaning sound, with "SONNY," denoting small size, a youthful boy, also light and bright as in "sunny". It was chosen for its simple pronunciation that remains the same in any language.

Columbia's name can be traced straight back to Columba, the Irish apostle (521-597). who's first footsteps on Scottish soil were on Canna in the Western Isles of Scotland.
The name, Canna, is synonymous with the famous wedding, in the gospels.
Columba later founded the monastery on Canna's neighbouring Island, the holy island of Iona and his humble legendary legacy was deemed responsible for converting the Northern Picts to Christianity.
Columba means "dove", which is the symbol for the Holy Spirit and is God's favoured messenger. The dove is also used at weddings to symbolise love and marriage.

To celebrate filming at the Chapel near Roslin, nestled below the Pentland Hills, just six miles south of Edinburgh, friends and local people from the Roslin Community hosted a party.

The cast and film crew including Ron Howard were duly invited to attend on the 28th September 2005. Entertainment was organised for their guests in the tradition of true Scottish hospitality, with traditional music and dancing. Excited children waited patiently....... but sadly due to heavy work schedules and fatigue, no actors were present at the welcoming party...........

The request to the band was Seal's passionate ballad "Kiss From A Rose" that sings about a fabled tower and an efflorescent rose that brings light at the end ........"Now that your rose is in bloom, A light hits the gloom on the grave".

Every lady present at the party was gifted a single Red Rose, the timeless flower that is indicative of ardent Love, given in memory of the special lady with the double 13th letter of our alphabet in her initials..... ...M M....... the power of Love overcomes everything.

Affirmation may be found in Corinthians 13:13 as we enter the final countdown towards the end of the Mayan 2012 calendar and turn towards God for help. Our Love, Faith and Hope is tested to the full as we go from one devastating crisis to another, seeking light at the end of the tunnel.......

"And now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love."But the greatest of these is LOVE." Corinthians 13:13

Later at the party. Two representatives from Roseline Productions, on behalf of the film company and crew, accepted the gifts that were presented on the evening to bring the film success and vindicate the occasion. Local artist Joseph Maxwell-Stuart (his lineage is connected to the House of Stuart) painted a stunning picture of the Chapel. The embarrassed yet grateful guests apologised profusely on behalf of their absent colleagues and made a pledge that "they would return" ......so the film crew packed and sped away to uncover and sensationalise Rosslyn Chapel's pertinacious secrets.

The film went on to gross over $756.7 million (£386 million), ......but the children still patiently await their vow.......... the call went out to the band again to play the Scottish band Simple Minds' hit... Don't You Forget About Me.....

"The Da Vinci Code", Brown's work of fiction based on fact, unlocked our preconceived mental notions of the Jesus story. Penetrating deeply into profound knowledge that has been concealed or disguised, sensitive revelations that have never seen the light of day for the vast majority of us for hundreds of years. The book's inspirational disclosures have been skillfully manipulated to ignite the torch of memory that has lain dormant in each and every one of us.

The account of Agni tells of an Eastern Hindu double-headed messenger fire God. This is worth some retrospect consideration when we view Agni depicted riding a Ram. This confirms the glimpse of eastern starlight at the birth of Christianity and is identifiable with the parallel world of Agni who is also the innocent recipient of sheep related sacrifices.

Knights Templar and Saint John Hospitallers in turn adopted the double headed Golden Eagle that integrated the Agni doctrinal teachings with their own. The Eagle is the symbol of Scottish heraldry in medieaval times. The remit of the Lord Lyon's office was to keep a register of the genealogies and armorial bearings of the nobles.

Present day newspapers additionally adopt the herald-eagle theme with the proclamation of todays news and predictions of forthcoming events..........

Local Roslin designers, decided that they would design a tartan to commemorate the release of the forthcoming film.

The design elements of the tartan combine to provide a truly unique tribute to the Roslin community and Scotland's part in the continuing story. Pictured below is the Roseline Da Vinci Tartan being woven in the border town of Peebles, situated next to the Roseline and a Blackface Sheep (" Agnus Dei, " Lamb of God), pictured standing on the Roseline.

The Declaration of Arbroath, originally written in Latin and dated 6th April, 1320, at the Royal Chancery of Bernard, Abbot of Arbroath, makes intriguing reference to the ancient lineage of the Scots as an independent people. "They journeyed from Greater Scythia by way of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Pillars of Hercules, and dwelt for a long course of time in Spain among the most savage tribes, but nowhere could they be subdued by any race, however barbarous. Thence they came, twelve hundred years after the people of Israel crossed the Red Sea, to their home in the west where they still live today".

The Declaration, Scotland's covenant for Independence, was produced and edited by the then Abbot of Arbroath, later Chancellor of Scotland, Bernard De Linton. who spent his early ecclesiastical years at Kilwinning Abbey, known in masonic circles as Mother Lodge 0, which was in the ancient parish of Montgreenan, in the distict of Cunninghame, Ayrshire.

After the Battle of Culloden on 16th April 1746, the Duke of Cumberland was to discover historic evidence that would help him understand why the Jacobite call to arms could so invigorate the clans, drawing such a passionate response to the cause.

"The Butcher", through a mixture of confession, torture and uncovered documentary evidence, claimed that affirmation of the Scots pedigree was taken from The Isle of Man Chronicles and elaborated by de Linton, master weaver of bloodlines. De Linton was one of a select few mediaeval genealogists who spun the thread of unbroken descent from past to present, expertly passing the thread of the Lamb through the guarded and secretive needle's eye.

Relentless sleuth de Linton becomes the metaphoric "yarnwinder" that Leonardo Da Vinci spins into part of his vision of the symbolically loaded painting of Mary's Escape to Egypt, referred as the "Madonna of the Yarnwinder". Da Vinci's "Yarnwinder" is one of a pair, two Marys - nothing is ever what it seems in Da Vinci's divine illusive world. As the ideas spawned by the Da Vinci Code spread round the globe, art thieves masterminded an audacious swoop to steal the 9th Duke of Buccleuch's jewel of his art collection. In 2003, the theft of "The Madonna of the Yarnwinder", Scotland's only Da Vinci painting, thrust the late Duke's name into the global news headlines.

Imitating closely a scene from 1999 film Entrapment, starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones who enchanted her romantic Welsh spells over Hollywood legend Micheal Douglas becoming Mrs Douglas, thus joining the Duke of Buccleuch as part of the Douglas-Hamilton clan. His Grace Angus Douglas-Hamilton, the 15th Duke of Hamilton is heir to the chiefdom of the house of Douglas, but cannot assume the tittle of chief, since the Lord Lyon King of Arms requires him to assume the single name Douglas. The formidable clans unite under the auspicious heraldic coat of arms featuring two prominent unicorns.

.....intrinsically truth is more curious than fiction. The first Duke of Buccleuch James Scott, was also 1st Duke of Monmouth and ( 1649 – 1685), was the illegitimate son of Charles Stuart II and his Welsh mistress, Lucy Walter, (c. 1630 – 1658). He was married off to the wealthy Anne Scott, 4th Countess of Buccleuch. Lucy Walter was the daughter of William Walter of Haverfordwest and his wife, Elizabeth Protheroe, a Welsh noblewoman descended from the second marriage of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk. Part of the Howard family maintain they can trace their family tree back to the Royal blood of Jesus, ascertaining one of the motives behind Ron Howard's acceptance of the Directorship of the contentious Da Vinci Code Film.

Novelist Tim Powers uses the comparison of finding the gateway to heaven in his award winning time travel fantasy book, The Anubis Gates, which a number of people have alluded to be a metaphor for the Roseline. The plot dates back to 1801 when the British have taken power in Egypt and suppress the worship of the old Egyptian gods. A cabal of magicians plan to drive the British out of Egypt by bringing the gods forward in time from an age when they were still powerful and unleashing them on London, thereby destroying the British Empire. In 1802, a failed attempt by the magicians to summon Anubis opens magical gates in a predictable pattern across time and space. We can compare the efforts of Tim Powers' protagonists to find the Key that unlocks the Anubis Gateway with the Duke of Monmouth's failed rebellion against James II in the 1680s. William Shakespeare, English national poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist, uses the subtle trickery of linguistic camouflage as a method of cryptic concealment in the otherwise straightforward story of the most famous secret lovers of the Piscian era. Shakespeare indicates in his own way, in the story of Romeo and Juliet, the twists and turns and ambiguous shadings attached to the blessings of Love. Before Romeo meets Juliet, he loves Rosaline. He describes her as exceptionally beautiful: "The all-seeing sun / ne'er saw her match since first the world began."

Shakespeare disguises the other love interest in Romeo's life as Rosaline (Roseline), God's hospitable invisible energy of love, which we often take unconsciously for granted. The middle ages brought many imitations of the classic love story and the scriptwriters for recent Hollywood blockbuster, Shrek, based their scripts on the same theme, with a forlorn Prince guided by his aching heart to return to a metaphoric Magdalene-tower, where he finds his Princess locked away. With parallels that correspond to the Magdalene's alabaster jars of perfumed ointment and her drying her Saviour's feet with her spectacular locks. The writers are prompted to use the device of masses of hair flowing down the side of the castle walls to help entice her lover into the warm embrace of her affections. "What’s in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Shakespeare guides us towards lover Romeo’s parents, Lord and Lady Montague, at the time of Shakespeare's writing Rosaline, the Montagu family were one of England's elite feudal families. William Montacute (alias Montagu), King of the Isle of Man, 1st Earl of Salisbury and 3rd Baron Montagu (1301 – January 30, 1344) was an English nobleman and loyal servant of King Edward III. He was created Earl of Salisbury on 16 March 1337. In 1338 the new Earl went on a lengthy diplomatic mission, first to France to declare King Edward's claim to the French crown, and then to visit many of the German princes who might ally against France. Later that year he was made Marshall of England.

During the next two years, he was one of the commanders of the English forces in Flanders, until he was captured by the French near Lille. He was released later in 1340 as part of a prisoner exchange, on the condition that he never again fought against the French. It was probably sometime after his return to England that he conquered the Isle of Man, which had been held by the Scots. He was subsequently crowned, King of Mann.

William Montagu married Catherine Grandison, daughter of William de Grandison, 1st Baron Grandison. Legend holds that Edward III was in love with her, and she may have been the "Countess of Salisbury" from whose dropped garter the Order of the Garter derives its name.

In Hamlet, the second Shakespeare play to include veiled grail references, the action takes place at Elsinore castle, an anagram for Roseline, and has a Norwegian prince, Fortinbras as one of the main characters, Fortinbras is an anagram for First Baron. William St Clair was the first Baron of Rosslyn who came to England with his first cousin, William the Conqueror in 1066. They were from royal Norwegian bloodlines and fought together at the Battle of Hastings. St Clair was selected to be the escort for the Celtic King, Malcolm Canmore's bride, the Saxon princess Margaret, from the court of Hungary. William St Clair, for his services to the King and country, was made "Cup-Bearer" to Queen Margaret and granted the Barony of Rosslyn in 1070.

In 1066, Halley's comet was seen in England and taken as an ill omen, indeed, later that year, Harold II of England died at the Battle of Hastings. So, it was a bad omen for Harold, but a good omen for the man who defeated him, William the Conqueror. The comet is represented on the Bayeux Tapestry as a fiery star, and the accounts that have been preserved represent it as having appeared to be four times the size of Venus and to have shone with a light equal to a quarter of that of the Moon.

The Norman conquest was achieved by a remarkable sequence of events. In September 1066, King Harold Godwinson was in the south of Britain, anticipating an invasion from Normandy by William the Conqueror when news came that King Harald Hardrada of Norway was leading his Vikings on a rampage in Yorkshire. The English King Harold made a 4 day dash up country and caught the Vikings by surprise at the Battle of Stamford Bridge on Sep 25 1066, resulting in a rout for the Anglo-Saxons. With remarkable timing William landed with an invasion force on 28th September near Hastings — there is no evidence that either the Norman or Viking invaders knew of each other's plans. King Harold, having no time to mop up, again force-marched his victorious but exhausted army down to the south coast to confront the Normans. In the Battle of Hastings, 3 weeks after the battle at Stamford, William gained the decisive victory that changed the course of history in Britain, the once dominant Anglo-Saxon rulers were overthrown and a new Norman influence would be exerted throughout the British culture.

Henry Scott, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch and 5th Duke of Queensberry KG, KT (2 September 1746 – 11 January 1812), was a Scottish nobleman and long-time friend of the notable Sir Walter Scott.

It was during Henry's tenure as Duke of Buccleuch & Queensberry, that much of the family's lands and wealth were accumulated. It was he who married Elizebeth Montagu, who later inherited the Montagu title and integrated the surnames "Montagu" and "Douglas" with the Scott family name to form the unhyphenated compound surname "Montagu Douglas Scott"

U-TAG-MON. The French utilise and label the word Mon in a liberal sense with a spectrum of words used to communicate its interpretation, including account - away - darling - dear - expire - goodness - grief - have - indulgence - introduce - love - lucky - mention - might - mind - my - myself - old - on - one - opinion - poor - self-addressed envelope - set - shaky - should - sink - sort - strong - thinking - use - where - will and wrong. One has to be a little perturbed why this phrase gets such a posse of obscure and random words to acknowledge its importance, maybe the Duke of Monmouth & Mona Lisa have a hidden connection?

Mon is also the ancient Scots word for Man and the older Scots name for the Isle of Man was the Isle of Mon. We celebrate the Easter festival from Friday to Monday. Monday being symbolically the day Mon-Man is reunited with his partner and Lover after sacrificing himself to God and casting out sins and evil spirits. The symbolic Egg-stone held to be the product of the union between the Cock and Hen is enticed into motion with the help of the holy spirit, towards a future of hope and with God's Love directed towards the next generation's souls and morals.

Today the Duke of Buccleuch is the largest private landowner in Europe and accounts for over 280000 acres, much of which he leases to tenant farmers. Other farms are under his own management and the yarnwinder takes another twist and turn, when we calculate that the Duke holds in his possession the greatest distance of land on the Roseline Meridian, stretching from Brittany to Orkney and holding under the Buccleuch Group's authority the largest amount of Blackface-Linton sheep and yarn for sale owned by any one person in the world.

West Linton village lies at the foot of the Pentland hills. The busy A702 trunk road, that runs through the village, is one of the main routes connecting Edinburgh to the South West and Ireland. Weary, vocative pilgrims on their way to Roslin, would have stopped off on the pent (pathway), before continuing on towards Bush and Roslin, where a second major energy coordination on the tree of life is found.

When escaping from Egypt on the Exodus, Moses is told by God to take off his sandals, indicating that the location of the burning bush is on holy, sanctified ground..........

Thoughts on the significance of the burning bush were shared by the founders of the the Church of Scotland, who trace their roots back to the earliest Christians in Scotland. The Church's identity was principally shaped by the Scottish Reformation of 1560.

At that point, the church in Scotland broke away from the Catholic Church in Rome, splitting the people and country into two main religions in a process of Protestant reform. This was led by, among others, Scotland's elite ruling Judges and John Knox, who acrimoniously defied his staunchly Catholic monarch, Mary Queen of Scots.

The Mary Magdalen Chapel in Edinburgh's Cowgate was the meeting place for the First Inaugural General Assembly, and from here the blueprint for a Scottish culture built on original Christian values, democratic Parliament, freedom of speech and education for all from primary school to university, was implemented and issued. Drawing heavily on the principles of John Calvin, to which Knox had been exposed while living in Geneva, the heart of Reformation at the time.

In 1560,Crossrads the Scottish Parliament abolished papal jurisdiction and approved Calvin's Confession of Faith. The Church of Scotland adopted the egg shaped Burning Bush on a Saint Andrew's cross emblem to link past with present.

Scientific American, the premier illustrative science magazine, proclaims that the Bush is the spot where we can find Dolly the first cloned ewe and "the world's most famous sheep". The prodigy wonder was born on July 5, 1996 – by D.I.Y creators Ian Wilmut, and expert team of colleagues at the Roslin Institute in the Bush research estate next to Roslin Village near Edinburgh. Dolly was the first cloned mammal produced using an adult somatic cell and the process of nuclear transfer. This controversial experiment angered pockets of fundamentalist objectors who premised that this knowledge, in time, would lead to an attempt at human cloning and the possibility of soul-less humans lacking animation or nobleness of the mind............ for the past 3 decades the Bush Science Park has been targeted by animal rights activists including several arson attempts.........some, it sems, still wish to hear the words of God in the Burning Bush!

West Linton claims to be named after Bernard de Linton, whose vocation was Scots history, and passion was genetic selection and the improvement of Britain's most popular hill breed the Blackface, sometimes referred to as the Linton.

The 28th of September(the same day as our party) is the feast date of King Wenceslas the Duke of Bohemia (907-935). His successful alms-giving welfare and work was implemented to improve the conditions of the poor. It was received with kindness and presents and is inter-wreathed with Christ-Xmas day and the 26th of December. His charitable allocations are seen as bringing the message of universal love and empathy with others in time of need the World over and is celebrated by the giving of endowments or gifts.

The rousing and savourly "Good King Wenceslas" lyrics refer to a clearing next to Saint Agnes baptism fountain........"Right against the forest fence, by Saint Agnes' fountain." Subtle yet emphatic use of language to convey partaking in the sacred Holy Spirit rite that complements and runs parallel with the anagrammatic phrase found in the last chapter of the bible, Revelations Chapter 22;17 The Water of Life:

"The Spirit and the bride say "Come"! And let him who hears say, "Come"! Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life."

Agnes is of Greek origin, meaning "pure, holy". It is the Latin form of the Greek name Hagnes taken from the feminine form of "hagnos".

The popular Saint Agnes (4th century) was a young Roman virgin martyred by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Her emblem is a lamb and she is often pictured carrying a Lamb, the Latin word for "lamb" is "agnus".

Secret societies including Knights Templar and Saint John Hospitallers would often subtly substitute Saint Agnes with Saint Mary Magdalene on the premise that they both shared the same feast day on the 22 July. The dense forest clearing now becomes a days logging in the Amazon Jungle as the semi-detached-marriage days of 25-26 December convey and signify their true concealed meaning. The Popular Xmas carol, is sung along to 13th-century springtime melody named "Tempus Adest Floridum" intriguingly it means "IT is TIME for FLOWERING".
